Sharing food with all God’s children
HELP, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit providing hunger relief to Western Oklahoma since 1983. The food pantry’s mission is to provide ongoing food supplies to needy individuals and families in Beckham, Roger Mills, Dewey, and Washita counties who are dealing with difficult life circumstances. God has called us to offer our lives in service to each other and one example of loving service to others is the care and feeding of the poor and hungry.
In 2011, HELP Inc. changed locations and increased geographic eligibility while increasing client visits to monthly. In December 2013, HELP Inc. completed a major remodel and became a Food Resource Center which incorporates “client choice†shopping. It is located in the Community Care Center (formerly the Elk City Armory), now home to a variety of social services agencies including Western Oklahoma Family Care Center, the Hope Dental and Medical Clinics, ACTION Associates, Salvation Army, and American Red Cross.
Board of Trustees
HELP, Inc. was founded by the Elk City Ministerial Alliance in 1983, a coalition of local churches working together to provide food for the hungry and clothing for the cold. Help Inc. operates as a separate volunteer-driven entity and is governed by a Board of Trustees.
